So excited, one of my button pairs just hatched a clutch of eggs on her own. I had given up on them, thinking she had been sitting on infertile eggs because thought she had been incubating for almost 20 days now. She knew best though. I can see at least two chicks peeking out from under her and she was sitting on four eggs. Hopefully will be able to snap some pics of them soon.

Hi there, i am new to Quails and the two in my pic are a day n half old..... there either pied or white ....and female ive been told.... i will keep posting pix when i get them as there not home with me yet...i have brooder set up n theer forever home but wont be getting them for another two weeks after which i wana add to them with Red breasted, blue breasted, pied, darthvaer, n silver tuxedo pied. and either pied or white but as i say not sure what these two girlies are yet :) any way i will post more pix when i can nice meeting you all n hope see alot moer pix on here soon

Cute babies.I'm not sure why anyone would tell you a gender on such young chicks. It isn't possible to tell sex until the chicks are at least 3 weeks old and starting to get their adult plumage. Even longer for whites or tuxedos.

No matter what gender you get, they make great little pets. Especially if you spend a lot of time with them and tame them. You will really enjoy them.

That's what I was thinking too. However, there is away ive been told with a magnet and its supposed to sex the chicks and its never wrong????? Whether this is right or not that's what i was told but yes we will see in the weeks to come but il keep posted on it :)

Yay, a button quail thread! I hatched out 12 about 5 1/2 weeks ago.

Here are some pictures soon after they hatched

I have current pictures of each of them here:

I'll add a few more current pics of them soon, just because I love to take pics and show them off. :) What is everyone else doing for a set up? Right now I have them in a big brooder with the brinsea ecoglow removed, but I expect them to pair off soon and I'll move them into new arrangements then.

I plan to put them in modified storage containers... I can post more pictures later, but I'd love to swap ideas since mine aren't quite done yet - open to suggestions!
