This is Tyger. We just got her on Saturday! She was a stray that was hanging around my hubby's shop and he fell in
with her. We're really not sure about her age - she's not a tiny kitten, but she's not an adult either. She's soooo sweet, doesn't bother the chickens and is incredibly tolerant when my 2½ yr old son tries to hold her. She doesn't try to bite, scratch or wriggle out of his grasp one little bit. As long as she's getting attention, she doesn't care.
Here's Tyger again with our 2½ yr old son, Nathan. He absolutely adores her. They're the best of buds. Moments after this pic was taken, Tyger fell out of her bed because she was rolling around like crazy on her back wanting Nathan to pet her. It was funny and not so funny at the same time to see.
I got my camera out..here are some of my kitties. More to come.
This is Momma Kitty. She was once feral, and had pure hatred for me after taking 2 litters of kittens from her. I was able to get her fixed through a TNR program in my county. After many months, I was able to tame her. She has no desire whatsoever to go outside.
This is her son Nimrod "Nimmy"
I took this picture right before a yawn. He was from a litter of 4.
This is Morton, and Nimmy.
Morton was abandoned in my town's salt shelter. He was about 2 weeks old. My husband was walking our dog on a cold October Sunday past the building, and heard him screaming for his Mom.
I went to the police department, talked to the dispatcher, she said she had other people come in about it...long story. Took them 8 hours to get a village employee there, they all live within blocks of the place.
Anyway, he was saved. He wouldn't have made the night.
This is Gabby, I found her as a kitten by our farm. She was starving, and had a puncture wound to her eye. She can see, but has a cloudy scar.
Here's Jade. He is about 2 yrs old. Jade's mama was a stray who decided to have her litter in the yard of a house down the road. The kittens would go visit the kids at the bus stop every morning. Well, DH saw them, called me up and said go grab one. Well, everytime i went down there, I didn't see a kitty. Well, finally a week later, I saw one, walked up slowly expecting the kitten to run. Nope...he plopped down and rolled over so I could pet his belly. Easiest stray kitty catch ever!
He's in love with Mika, our Heeler mix, and likes to hang out with the chickens (he submisses to them). He's not a good mouser, since he catches the lizards, but no mice!
