Cute or sad

You may know I am down to a single duck, Mini, that I have been trying to find a new home or a friend. She has been screaming herself hoarse and not eating well from being lonely. Last night I have her a 12x12 mirror. She gave it the side eye and then the side head bob. This morning she was cuddled up with it giving her happy trill. She wouldn't go out to free range because her "friend" wouldn't come with her. She would start for the door and then run back and quack at the mirror like come on already. I have had to move the food and water closer to her "friend" so she will eat and drink. She hasn't screamed all day but won't go more than 3 feet from her friend. I didn't think this would work on an adult duck.

@Raenh if i remember correctly, Tomball and Magnolia are pretty close, maybe you two can help each other out?

You should still find her a new friend...this is really her reflection....and when she finds this out....back to screaming duck! Sad....and totally cute!

Maybe @Raenh has a friend you can borrow, or can foster your duck while you get your ducklings raised.

I need to cut our flock down by three. You are about an hour and a half away. We have a hen and drake pekin and a drake Rouen that need to be rehomed.They are only 10 weeks old but take up more room than I thought they would.

i think I may have her a home. If not I will come back to you. I won't be set up for more ducks until Feb but if they still need a home then, I will come get them. It will take me till then to get the right number of females to support two drakes.

I will keep it in mind. The Rouen was the most curious one when we brooded them in the tub. If the runner is not the first one to the peas, its George the Rouen. I wish we could keep them all . I told my wife to get six but she came back with nine from TSC Navasota.
