The little girl is as cute as the chick! None of my hens has ever gone broody, so I'm still waiting to see babies poking their heads out from under mommy's wing. Next summer I'm sure I'll see it plenty, with cochins and silkies, I'll be lucky if I can get them do anything but ly a clutch and go broody, hatch, raise the batch, lay a clutch, go broody.....

thanks!!! I expect Midnight to go broody again... in the spring.
Not sure what I will do then.

I have more pictures! I am wondering if they are roosters..
I see comb. I hope not, but, nothing I can do if they are.

I am going to get some eggs and have our girls hatch them. If they ever start laying

Oh, too cute!
Now I'm gonna be wishing even harder that one of my hens will decide to go broody in the spring.

Mine all got combs right away, but after four weeks or so the boys' combs started to turn red, and the girls' did not, so give it a few weeks and you'll know what you've got. I wish silkies were that easy to sex.
