"...My kids pick the craziest names for our chickens. The rooster is Fat Albert (from Bill Cosby), we also have Lady Gray, Blackie, Cheepers, Chocolate, Snowy. We've also had Little Red, Henny Penny..."
We are hoping our upcoming arrivals will all be strong, smart, beautiful, heroic blondes (Buff Orpingtons), so we have selected appropriate names for them:
Brunnhilde
Helga
Isolde
Gretchen
Elsa
Anneliese
Bertha
Frieda
Lorelei
Marlene
Zelda
Gertrude
the white one is suds(hen) the dark partridge is cookie monster (cookie for short, and its a hen) the black one is eclipse and its a hen, last but not least the buff partridge is named puffCorn(a rooster) and i have one americauna named jewl, (a hen) and one americauna named slate , (rooster) and lol.... my mom griped at me about naming cookie , mother clucker till i changed it
haha and omg, i know right? I have 30 birds and out of that group is 1 turkey, and three ducks, and they All follow me haha!My grandsons and granddaughter named our six. We finally convinced the five year old that Godzilla and Jaws were not appropriate names for lady chicks and he relented and chose Molly after his recently deceased lab and Lizzie after his mom. One of the twins chose Precious, the other chose Henny Penny. My two year old granddaughter chose Lady Tramp (her combination of Lady and the Tramp) and together they all chose the Little Red Hen (Red for short). Now I'm wondering if maybe we should have stuck with the Godzilla. Pretty sure any hen with a name like that wouldn't get picked on in the yard.
