When in the year is it too late to raise baby chicks?
I was thinking about getting Cornish cross and letting them free range but not sure if it'll be too cold for them.
I live in Texas, down in the Dallas-Fort Worth area!

These are meat birds, their heat requirements are quite different from layer chicks.
.....and the 5° a week thing is just a basic guideline, best to go by behaviors and much depends on ambient temps.
