Has anyone ever tried sprinkling cyote urine around their coop and run as an added deterrent against fox, raccoon, etc.?

Wondering if something like that would work.

Be careful about doing this as it might work for keeping the coons and fox away but might bring in yotes looking for a mate.
I use yote urine as an attractent when hunting them

I guess I use the next best thing. At least once a week and more if it rains alot I take my irish wolfhound for a walk (& pee break) around the entire perimeter of the area that the chickens frequent. She's a known coyote killer.

My three year old son takes care of that for me. He'll pee on anything(guess its good we live in the country)

OK, go ahead and laugh......

but every morning, when i wake up and roll out of bed, i do my rounds around the coop and pee on each corner of the coop and the run.
I had coon problems nightly before i started this process, now i havnt had a sign of the critters for almost a year!

I wouldn't laugh. While I talked about my dog peeing outside, I refrained from mentioning that my SO does too.

I think it is also worth noting that this will also help keep critters like deer etc out of gardens and it is reported that "she pee" is for some reason more effective than "he pee".
