This is what we use in part of the run. It is easy to rake up and replace also. I have not had any problems!

I use pine shavings in their coops and put alfalfa in their run. They like to scratch and pick through the alfalfa.

Hey!!! Cypress is a tree that we have growing down south. Its found in wet areas. It's mulch is suppose to take longer to break down...

Just be sure you get the natural mulch not the red dyed stuff.I have used cypress mulch for 2 years with good results.
