Cyprus' Chat Thread

My day's been good.
You?
Good!:jumpy I was also wondering what I should start to do when it is wintertime and it is cold outside. We do have something to keep the water from freezing, but if anyone has anymore advice about keeping chickens warm in the winter I would really appreciate it!
Thanks in advance!:pop:)

In Wisconsin, we used heat lamps and heated water bases.

If I didn't heat the water, it would freeze.
I either carry out hot water daily or get water out of the heated stock tank. I have muscovy ducks in my shed. They make it impossible to keep clean water out for long.

I have never provided any extra heat for my birds. I've have multiple breeds including frizzles, d'uccle, and have had silkies in the past. I know heating chickens is a hot topic, so I'm not debating anything. Just sharing for me it isn't necessary, and I don't think it's worth the risk of fires.
