She could have very well been pecked there. She has been trying to boss around my EE a bit and the EE is bigger. They free range during the day, and when I put them out, she was fine, when I brought them back she had the lump. It has definitely gotten bigger. Should I get an antibiotic? It looks like a tumor to me. Has she been pecked there? Is it soft or firm? Did she have a Mareks vaccine?
I agree that it looks like an infection. I am pretty tough, and would normally do it, but since this kind of thing is new to me, I found a vet and will take her this afternoon. I definitely don't want to hurt her or screw it up. (I hope he doesn't either!). I will keep you guys posted as to what the findings are. Thanks so much for the input.I would try and lance it as it appears red/swollen so could be some sort of infection and it is putting pressure on her eye. Lance and apply antibiotic ointment(nothing ending in caine/cane)ointments designed for sties in eye are my preference for any eye issues and/or clean with a peroxide solution using a Q-tip,be careful of eye.
