Da' Cute and Cuddly Call Duck thread!

I love how they cluck-cluck all the time! She only does the Joker laugh when she's excited. Or lonely. Or hungry. Or it's a day that contains the letter Y.

Amy, you nailed it. Hahaha, Winter's joker laugh makes me laugh EVERY TIME. Whenever Palmer & I leave the room without her, she gives it to us. Then there are times when she simply feels like it - like when she's excited, when she's hungry, or when she hears my mom's voice

Calls are just the best birds, aren't they? <3 She's so chirpy and happy all the time! Wobbles is always rasping, it's just too cute. All the time, nothing but "mehp..mehp...mehp...mehp..." aAnd Bean just peeps and clucks like a lil' duckling!

Ducks have all kinds of vocalizations and things to say... Drakes just say "Yes Dear... Yes Dear..." in a quiet subdued voice

I just know I have the minority opinion with these things.

Nope, you got it right. We had a little event tonight where one of our keepers for this year was swimming in a pool with another one of the keepers, and the little drake started bobbing his head at her. She watched him, dunked her head in the pool, shook it off and looked at him again like, "I'd love to kiss you, but I just washed my hair." He bobs again, "Maybe we can forage together." She dunks, "My hair isn't quite clean yet." He bobs and bobs his head, "But it's you I'm interested in, not your hair."

This went on for 4-5 minutes, then she hopped out. He hopped out and waddled after her. He followed her around for the rest of the night. She'd look back to see if he was still following and seemed to pause if he got too far behind. Budding romance, with the girl playing hard to get!!!

Poor Wobbles...he keeps head bobbing at Bean, but she just doesn't get it! I know she's still a little young, but she seems to love the attention regardless! Such a tease

Do Bean & Wobbles have bath time together at night or do you bathe them separately? I think that's the first place they'd mate :)

I usually put her in first because she goes HAM on that water, let me tell ya! Her tub time isn't done until there's water covering every inch of the bathroom.

As for Wobbles, usually I'll put him into swim with her after she gets most of her submerducking out of her system, but lately he has tried to mate her. He clamps on, she flips out. She's just not ready yet, unfortunately. But she's nearly five months old now, it'll happen soon, I'm sure!
