Da' Cute and Cuddly Call Duck thread!

I usually put her in first because she goes HAM on that water, let me tell ya! Her tub time isn't done until there's water covering every inch of the bathroom.  As for Wobbles, usually I'll put him into swim with her after she gets most of her submerducking out of her system, but lately he has tried to mate her. He clamps on, she flips out. She's just not ready yet, unfortunately. But she's nearly five months old now, it'll happen soon, I'm sure!

Omg, she just goes crazy the instant she hits the water! From day 1 she was a zoomie, but now that she's grown up she can still submerge, which is awesome to watch. Typically, though, she'll just flap across the water and beat the tar out of her feathers. Sometimes she beats them so vigorously she accidentally does a backwards somersault it's hilarious! She's not satisfied until every last inch of her is soaked to the bone. She loves it.

I like to watch her too, but since I wear glasses I can't watch her for very long unless I wipe my lenses every 10 seconds. I'm just so happy to finally have a zoomie! Wobbles has always sucked at swimming, but I still love him in all his royal derpness. But now I got my zoomie, so I have everything I could ever want in both my duckies. They're like a yin-yang, diametrically opposed in each and every way but they still fit so well together <3

After my two babies came into my life, I can't believe I ever considered owning any other duck breed. These lil' guys are just a perfect duckie package of personality and adorableness. Once you get calls it's like, "ok, that's it I'm done, can't go back bro, I just can't go back!"

Okay, so I've realized I NEED call ducks! I can't stand how cute they are! Teeny tiny little torpedos. I just posted on the Minnesota thread asking if anyone knew of breeders here in Mn. I thought I would ask here too... I would really love to get some under a week old if that's possible.

Awe thanks Julie Bird! I'm excited and hopefully we find some. We just started looking but probably should have started earlier. We may have to wait until spring... Hopefully not though. I found some male Pastels on craigslist but the are older and the hubby wants babies to bond with... He was so cute and tiny.

Wishing you good luck in your search... I don't know of anyone there, so can't help, sorry... and you might be right about having to wait til spring, I think most of the breeding season is over, but could be wrong...
Calls will make you lose sleep, make loud racket and be terrors... but they are worth every bit of it...

lol, I've been reading this thread a lot. I love that they are little terrors! Their personalities are priceless.
