Da' Cute and Cuddly Call Duck thread!

Our sweet little call, Hot Chocolate, laid her first egg this morning. Our two calls sleep in out bedroom and there was unusual scratching and moving around noises during the night. After I let them outside this morning I saw one cute little egg sitting in the middle of a little nest area she had made. She did not fly out of her box as usual this morning, I guess that is why.

That is so cute. Good for her. So cool your little ducks sleep in your room. I love her name.

We have 3 khaki campbells and 2 calls and do not think I would put the calls with a duck bigger than they are with now. Our calls keep the kcs in line and are the bossy ones, but bigger could trample them. We also only have one male...a call

Would calls do fine with Pekins and chickens?
I would not try it.
I have issues with so big a size range as Blue Swedish with Khaki Campbells. I could not imagine the kind of damage a Pekin could do to an itty little Call. My Swedish drake hurts my Black Swedish hens' legs sometimes and they need Epsom Salts and wraps. Pekins are even larger than that. A male could break her legs, or as unlikely as it sounds, rip her open...
Maybe a Call drake with a Pekin hen, unless you really thought you could trust a Pekin male with a Call hen by what you see with the individual's personality.

I have 3 call ducks, two grey and one snowy! They'll be just 6 months old this February! I absolutely LOVE them! And would love to get another two this Spring, a pastel duckling and a white duckling! PLEASE message me if anyone has any laying or hatching now! Thanks :)
