Da' Cute and Cuddly Call Duck thread!

My experience has been the opposite. I have chickens & turkeys that are closely bonded, come looking for us, search us for food & treats, hop into our arms to be carried around, perch on our shoulders, etc. The ducks,not so much. They tend to run from us & really don't even eat the treats we give them. It may just be a bonding issue. My ducks go outside asap due to the mess they make, chicks & turkeys stay in a little longer & tend to get handled more as babies.

My son & daughter have each had "shoulder chickens." My son had a little smooth showgirl who rode around on his shoulder & watched tv with him. My daughter has an EE hen who stands between her feet & pecks her legs until she picks her up & carries her around. I have a turkey hen who tugs my jacket strings, shirt tail or pant legs until I pet her or hand her treats. My birdies are spoiled. Almost every chicken & turkey will walk right in the door if it gets left open.

I love that they do that. So sweet and they deserve to be spoiled. Aren't their emotions fun to observe while they interact with you?

Same here. Every one of my chickens are super friendly and actually scared my father when he walked out there looking for me a few months ago. He started hollering for me from the center of the yard with a panic in his voice. When I looked up he was frozen still in the yard with about 50 or so chickens running toward him LOL. It was hilarious because they were just looking for treats but he had no idea.

My ducks are great and some are more friendly than others but they don't "visit" with me or sit with me like the chickens do. Most run the other way. If I ever had to choose the chickens would win hands down.

Also, guess what? I just caught the first glimpse of this lil' baby's duck tongue! It yawned in the shell and I saw its teeny tiny widdle tongue! It's so CUTE!

I actually did make a choice. I sold off all of my ducks & only have 1 pair of geese left. The geese are looking for a home too.

Eeeeeeeeee, I love duck tongues. And you saw Baby Waby's. Not to sound like a SAP but I am tearing up over that. He or she justa widdle ducklet.

Puffers is a cute name. I think chickens are cool and I have traveled all over the world and anytime I see one I take pictures of them. And they are just domestic birds like all of yours. My avatar is a South African pet rooster that I met when I was there a few years ago. Whatever the shape of our particular birds, they are our loves and offer us so much pleasure.

It was hilarious because he was scared that they were running at him to attack him and he didn't know if he should freeze or turn around and run the other way. The look on his face was priceless. Even after I told him that they were just looking for treats he was slow to move past them.

Another cute story... I made him an egg sandwich once, using fresh chicken egg of course. He asked "does it taste like a normal egg?" LOL. I didn't know there were different types of chicken eggs He ate it, said it tasted fine but has never eaten another one. He still buys his eggs at the store. He's just not interested In eating an egg that he saw where it came from. So weird to me lol.

I can understand how seeing 50 ducks barreling towards him would freak him out, but, well, it coulda been worse...
