3 of the 4 were ready and are out. I had to finish hatching them as the had wiggled around and almost got themselves upside down in the eggs. One more is still not ready and it seems very weak.oh my word, good. This is exciting. I hope all goes well.
oh my goodness. I am glad the 3 are out. Is that 4th one with the teeny bill a premature baby? I don't know anything about hatching birds. I hope he makes out though.3 of the 4 were ready and are out. I had to finish hatching them as the had wiggled around and almost got themselves upside down in the eggs. One more is still not ready and it seems very weak.the veins are about half receeded. I really pray it pulls through as it's got such a tiny little bill! The others seem about normal for ducklings. So 4 of 7 in this hatch are done and out with 1 maybe left if it pulls the nighr.

no, doesn't seem premature just slower to develop.oh my goodness. I am glad the 3 are out. Is that 4th one with the teeny bill a premature baby? I don't know anything about hatching birds. I hope he makes out though.
Now as to high quality calls? Is that because his bill is so teensy? Are the high quality calls always problematic hatchers?Nah, it's either a runt or a VERY high quality call duck! Oh, I hope he makes it, too...4 out of 7 is fairly par for the course with good quality calls. I wish it wasn't so, but...well, call ducks are call ducks, no matter how you slice it. :/ Congrats on the three healthy babies, and please keep us posted on the little one!
OK. That makes sense then. Argh, I hope he does OK.no, doesn't seem premature just slower to develop.

Now I see why they need help hatching. Sweet little things. Great news about Pancakeitoons. I am happy he's thriving. That's gotta make you and Mitch happy since you both successfully got him here.Yes, unfortunately. They're bred to be so small and delicate that they have a very hard time hatching, and their bills are so teeny that they can't break through the shell on their own. I hope the late bloomer makes it, too. I'm feeling hopeful, Pancake was a late hatcher too and he's a big healthy boy now!
