They're so cute.  I could see the pip holes on 2 of the other eggs but didn't want to disturb momma too much this morning.  Hopefully we'll have some other adorable fuzzies out by this afternoon

Ahhh! They sound beautiful! Can't wait to hear about the others and their colors as well!

Thanks. 4 more working their way out tonight. 2 eggs left. The other 5 eggs didn't make it. A couple had internally pipped but didn't make it out, a couple upside downers and 1 that never pipped. The last 2 eggs are still going so hopefully they'll hatch out tomorrow. Hate the waiting game :/

yay my black mallards are pretty much caught up with pebbles and bam bam. Little nixies is doing great she is Still very small for a black mallard but ehh i guess thats okay as long as she grows up healthy and is able to keep producing the black mallard line its all good . Little bam bam is so cute he like keeps nixie like a mom would a baby is so cute ill have to post a pic of it later.


the grey calls are good they are ready to go out in the aviary if we ever finish it. lol.


how ever little isis and her mandarin friend are more wild. and have always been freaked out by hands even when they were a few days old. Anyway last night mandarin hurt itself and little isis freaked out like major panic mode!!!! it was scary.

oh no, poor little panicked Isis. Is little mandarin ok?

I'm so sorry to hear about the loss, Clousert. I know it's par for the course with calls, but it doesn't make it any easier. I'm happy that you have so many other beautiful babies to celebrate though, all the same!

...Actually I do feel kinda bad. I'm a big advocate of mutts since they tend to avoid all the genetic pitfalls that pure breeds are notorious for, and what do I do? Fall in love with a pure breed that's infamous for having bad hatches. I feel like I'm living in a glass house. With adorable call ducks. Stone-throwing call ducks, but adorable nonetheless.

teach them calls better manners! They shouldn't be throwing stones.
