your birds are all so cute @Johnn love them all :love even if phoebe did have a mallard man her baby is still cute

Thank you!! Her baby is a little s**t! Shes so naughty haha
Wow, their bills look too short. Absolutely adorable, though.

To be honest the pic makes their bills look bigger! They're really good quality, I would have loved them. There babies would be hard to hatch though!

My self black grow-outs

So couple questions. I had 14 call duck eggs that had live ducks in them. They started hatching 7 days early so I didn’t have them on lockdown cause I didn’t know they would hatch that soon. I lost off the them but 5. What could have caused them to die? They were all alive 2 days before they started hatching.

Thanks for any help.

So they started hatching on day 19? I don't think that's possible unless incubation was already started by the time you set them. Any chance a duck was sitting on them before you put them in your incubator?

What temp was your incubator at? Was it still air or forced? The humidity?

My incubator was set to 28 days when I put them in. Was on 7 when they started hatching. It’s air forced. Humidity was kept between 45 and 65. And after day 10 I raised it to 55-75

So they started on day 21, making them five days early? That's still pretty early, but less crazy than them hatching on day 19. What temperature was your incubator at? And was this verified by a separate thermometer or were you just trusting a built in display?

I almost bumped up the humidity on 8 call eggs yesterday. Candled and thought some looked too far behind. Then re-checked the dates. I had marked setting as Sept-15 in my log, but the eggs were dated 9/15-9/18, so I realized I didn't set them until the 18th. Duh!
