Hi- I currently have ducks and am leaning towards getting more +/- chickens. I was toying with the idea of getting 1-2 goslings along with my next duckling purchase to hopefully help protect the flock against predators during the day while roaming the barnyard. Any insight to having both ducks and geese (pros/cons, breeds, genders, how many, etc). I was thinking 2 female geese or perhaps a gander and a goose. I just don't want the gander beating up on my duck hens.

Get at least 2 geese. Females are probably best. They may not be any real protection against predators. They just make quite a lot of noise if something is amiss or different.

You should probably brood them separately at first as they grow pretty quickly and will squish other species.

I love, love, looove everything about my geese!
Definitely a bit different from chickens and ducks, but completely worth it.
Also, as @oldhenlikesdogs mentioned, geese for predator protection is basically a myth. They will make noise if something is amiss, but other than that, they are just as vulnerable to predators.
