Daily Duck Egg Report

Thank you, I got a lot of tips for the pen from this site!
What are the odds that I still have some plywood sitting around?

I'll definitely get to work on that, thanks! Do you know if pekin ducks lay their eggs in a general area or should I put some more covered spots around the pen is she doesn't want to lay them all in the same spot?
If she likes a spot she'll most likely keep using it but having a few more hidey holes wouldn't hurt.

I have like 15 duck eggs in the shed that I'll have to throw out. I've been sick this week and not collecting. I went in today to get an egg for my crow - a young fella who comes down almost everyday for his duck egg - and said whoa nellie! Got a few too many eggs here...Of course no one is sitting but I dont mind cos Ive got my new call duck and her babies to keep me occupied.

I really have to do something about my surplus, I hate to chuck them. Sometimes I can give them away but most people dont like duck eggs. I am in Western Sydney Australia, if anyone is near me and wants some eggs, holler!

Can't you scramble them and feed them back to your ducks for the nutrition?

My dogs love duck eggs, I steam them and give them as snacks. Hope your feeling better.

Yay I now have 4 duck eggs in the nest which I thought they only layed one a day! And she just started sunday! Unless my other mallard is laying in the same nest lol silly duckies!

They love to lay in the same nest actually. I even have chickens that will line up waiting for the same nest box when there are many more to choose from. Silly girls. I have even seen my ducks and chickens laying together in the same next box.

Time for an omelet or some yummy brownies.

I have noticed that all of my hens and the ducks lay in the same 2 boxes. I keep a Cap for PVC pipe in the nests for a nest egg. Some times the chickens take them out. They generally don't lay in a box that doesn't have a nest egg in it. Byron
