Daily Duck Egg Report

Only chicken eggs here today after 2 weeks without a duck egg I am saying my girls are threw for the year, the carnuckles on the drakes are fading. Whew been a long summer now if the 5 girls that are still brooding will give up.

6 eggs from my hens

I hear ya!! My blue girl still isn't making eggs but the fawn and white runner has decided all of the sudden its time to get broody! Of coarse she has made her nest in my flower bed and I can totally see her trying to be all inconspicuous, but the gig is up. She quacks super loud in the AM until we let her out of the pen and then she runs like the wind to that nest and deposits one egg. I am not letting her complete this task however so hopefully she will just give up too on being broody.
By the way what is a carnuckle?

She is all kinds of crazy that bird.

That's the way Ruth Ann is here I have been using a stick to move her out of the way just to make sure her sister hasn't laid and Ruth has rolled it under her. Boy does she bite hard.
