I actually got 3 chicken eggs today, I am beginning to think my chickens even think they are Muscovy's and are only suppose to lay seasonally.

Had 2 duck eggs and dropped 1 on the kitchen floor, dogs were happy. My khaki's are still laying everyday. Could it be due to their age, kinda like pullets in the chickens? Mine are new layers, so I'm thinkin they might keep layin right thru winter. Fingers crossed!
Nope no duck eggs since September. That's great ML! No duck eggs tho?
Muscovy's are seasonal layers. and yes some are over 1 yr old. My 2 from this years hatch won't lay till next spring. No eggs at all, are your ducks all over a yr old?
Probably not seasonal means spring through fall. This year was weird we had a warm Jan everyone was mating and laying eggs strange because usually laying doesn't start till end of March first of April. Well Feb came cold so it all stopped and didn't pick back up till end of march, but this year they all stopped laying first week of Sept. that's a first too usually it's towards latter end of Sept. My 2 ducks that hatched in May haven't laid although they go in and do what I call playing house making little indentions in the shavings while the drake puts his head in the air and bites at nothing lol. But I've never had a duck hatch and lay in the same year it's always been the following spring for me. I like that actually they are completely mature and very seldom do you hear of Muscovy's having egg laying problem. So be patient my dear.So my 2 muscovies are this past spring hatch, no need for me to even look for eggs till spring then?![]()
Just in case, the eggs are white, the dots are mud marks (I took the picture before cleaning the eggs)
