HDF who is laying the blue egg?

The Runner girl. Just once I awhile tho. So either she's a rare-occasion layer, or she switches up her colors! Only way to know would be the food coloring, but then I'd ruin the blue. Unless I dyed everybody but her I guess

I really don't think it matters if they have eggs or not, it just has to run it's course. I have one that's been broody going on 3 months now. She's probably wondering how come her fake goose egg hasn't hatched yet but she is very protective of it.

She is still sitting on absolutely nothing. I worry about her because this is her first time ever being a 'duck' at her last home she was a human and there were no ther ducks. Im not sure if she knows she can stop!

My darling drake that Ive given up on ever giving me babies is having a big moult and got beat up and had his lady stolen by the young call drake. So he was sulking in the broody area with Regina for a few days. I was holding out hope that maybe he bred her while he was in there but now Im thinking I cant get that lucky! Or he cant!

It takes a while for the broody hormones to quit working so unless she isn't eating I wouldn't worry too much, I have 4 broody ducks right now sitting on nothing, They are crazy.

Oh my its so funny you say that! I was hanging washing on the line and she came out for a walk, straight up to me head bobbing tail wagging and trilling....She gets to me and we start to have a snuggle when she sits bolt upright and deposits - no kidding - a rottweiler sized poop right next to my washing!

She came out twice today so I think she's getting over it. Poop doesnt really build up in the shed the way I have it set up.

Getting 2 eggs a day, now Im off work for maternity leave I dont have anyone to give my eggs to, so they are piling up in the fridge. Must make quiche.

those poops are dangerous.and Congratulations on the new baby!!

Havnt quite had the baby yet. Due first week of July but I think its going to be a good deal sooner.

Getting 2 a day, and for the last week Ive been finding a 'splash' of yolk in odd places. Today I found a soft shell outside. Because the pekin girls are usually 1 each a day, I have to assume its one of them doing the soft shell. Im a bit puzzled as they are doing beautifully on their new food, they look great. And the pellets have such high calcium I have to make sure my little wild drake doesnt eat too much or he poisons himself.

My little calls did a frenzy of mating but no one laid any eggs yet

I am seeing some soft shells too, my almost 10 yr old duck is laying them and I found one in the chicken laying box the other day, sometimes hot weather can cause them and sometimes at begining or end of laying cycle they can lay them ,so unless we see them alot there should be no worry especially if they are getting good feed and have access to oyster shell and other means of calcium. I'm thinking with my duck her hormones are not working like they use to she didn't lay for probably a year and is now doing this.
