If it persists for a long time then she could injure the other leg from over use. A fracture will heal if it's stable and not displaced too much. After this amount of time I would think a fracture would be obvious, unless it's a hairline or greenstick fracture. Those can take a long time to heal. Bone will usually form a callus over the break as it heals, the bigger the break the bigger the callus, and that looks like a lump where ever the break was.
