Alright, here's my shot.

Fen looked down at the swaddled infant in her arms, feeling her heart swelling with pride with every breath the child took. He was perfect, not a flaw in sight.

Her son.
How she had longed for him. For years, she had dreamt of holding his brother, and even now, that fleeting memory broke her heart at what she had lost all those years ago.

The baby cooed happily, freeing a tiny fist from his wrap. Waving it lazily, his eyes fluttered as he looked up at her. There was no anger in those perfect blue eyes. No hate, nor sadness to be seen no matter how closely she searched. Only love.

She closed her eyes, feeling them beginning to water from emotions that she had almost began to think had abandoned her. She was so happy to be holding her son.

Finally, she thought, just what I've been looking for....

Finally, just the thing ive been looking for.....

A shadow shifted in the dark, the leaves seeming to hiss as the hidden dragon shifted.

Beyond the dark, lit by moonlight, was a grassy clearing with a small spring in the center, looking like quicksilver in the light. And standing on its bank was an ethereal silver dragon.

The silver dragon tilted her snout up to the sky, spreading her wings to the moons. She seemed to be waiting for something.

Or someone. The dragon in the dark knew that his grandson would be here soon to see the silver dragoness. He had been watching the two lovebirds for several days. It was disgusting, seeing his grandson, a noble CloudWing, fawning over a dragon of a different tribe. Even if his lover was a LunarWing.

The dragons of legend, rumored to wield the power of the three moons. Many thought they were extinct, or possibly had never existed at all.

The silver dragon wasn't large, but she had long tendrils with ghostly glowing orbs at the ends of them trailing from her spines, jaw, and wings. Delicate, swirling white filigree patterns decorated her scales, spiraling across her shoulders and wings and trailing up her neck. Her horns twisted slightly inwards and were decorated with silver rings. She was beautiful, in an almost angelic, ethereal way.

How Corvus had pulled her, Vulture had no clue.

As if summoned by Vultures thoughts, a skinny black dragon landed in the clearing. Corvus.

Oh, abominable. How Corvus's face lit up at the sight of her. "Silversky!" he cried. The LunarWing gave a shy returning grin. Vulture grimaced. He had never had frivolous feelings such as those. They were stupid, and a waste of time. Vulture could have found Corvus a nice CloudWing to marry, one that would set him straight.

Eventually Corvus left after many disgusting soppy goodbyes, leaving Silversky alone again. Vulture waited until he knew Corvus was out of range before sliding out of the trees.

"Well well-" he began, grinning, before a flash of white hot pain stabbed through his ear. Silversky crouched, hissing, many small, needlelike silver blades floating around her head. Vulture ducked as one zipped from behind his head and joined the rest. He reached one talon up to his ear, feeling a neat circular hole leaking blood onto his claws.

Silversky had seemed to know he was there. Interesting.

Vulture tilted his head. "That's a... fun little trick," he said. Silversky only snarled at him.

Vulture was.. unsettled. How had he not known of this LunarWing power? This dragon could kill him right here as easily as breathing.

"I could kill you right now," Silversky said in a low, dangerous voice, her accent giving it a slightly odd inflection. "You know this."

Smart, too, apparently. Vulture stood very still, considering his options. He opened his mouth to speak.

A small prick of pain let Vulture know a needle was being brandished at his throat, warning him. A shiver of fear ran through Vulture's wings.

"Don't even bother trying to slither your way out of this," Silversky hissed. "I know all about you. I should kill you right now. Leave right now and maybe I wont send one of my warping blades after you to end your wretched life."

Vulture took a step back, spreading his wings in a peaceful gesture. "As you wish," he said with a smile, dipping his head. He continued to back away before spreading his dark wings fully and taking to the sky, flying away with quick wingbeats.

So his plan would have to be revised. That was fine. He'd figure it out eventually.
