Daily Writing Prompt Thread Thingy It'll Be Fun

Galdur paced back and forth in a manic frenzy, he hadn’t been this freaked out since his tribe told him of his powers weeks after hatching. Agate stood in the corner, much more composed and calculated but still obviously worried. How could she be so calm?! Malachite was hunting him down and she’d gotten herself in his path. Now she was in danger and that’s exactly what Galdur hadn’t wanted.
“Maybe this is all a big mistake, maybe you’re just overreacting and Malachite actually just wants to…to..I don’t know, help you?” Agate finally broke out, looking up and meeting Galdurs firey purple eyes. After a moment of silence he looked down and batted away a rock with his stoney paw, which ended up shattering on the cave wall. “You think I'm being paranoid but the truth is I'm worth a lot more to him dead than alive, he’ll keep me locked up until Shedding Week and then kill me!” He barked, closing his eyes hard as the tears began to brim. Agate closed her mouth, walked over slowly and embraced him as a shudder racked his body. He could feel the power of the crystals growing on his back thrumming through him and into Agate, a soft blanket of quiet settled for just a moment, the hum of energy lasting a moment longer. Galdur pulled away, swiping a forepaw at his eyes to rid them of tears. The cave they were in was eerily quite now, the winds above ground making the only noise. “Do you think Malachite will know where to look for us?” Agate asked in almost a whisper.
Galdur looked around the cave, realizing just how much it had changed since he was little. They used to always go there to play and get away from the tutors and babysitters and busyness of the Obsidian Palace. The cave was so well hidden he’d been unable to find it several times before and it was farther away than he had first thought. “No I doubt it, he knows me pretty well but not that well. He’ll search the mines first, then probably the lava flows near the hatchery.” He said back, thinking of the huge grey and green crystaled dragon ransacking the city In search of the two of them. “We need to figure out who to trust, and where to go. We can’t stay here much longer or eventually they will find us. What about the Arachnni?” Galdur started, ideas forming in his head already, but Agate cut them off. “The alliance with the Arachnni is brittle as it is, we can’t go there. A Starignis refugee in their kingdom wouldn’t sit well with anyone, especially self proclaimed King Malachite. Even King Viridian couldn’t allow that…” she said, glancing at him as she mentioned his father.
It was true, he was supposed to stay and help his Kind, not run away, and he wanted to but he couldn’t. He just couldn’t, not with Malachite as king at least.
Suddenly Agate shouted and his train of thought crashed.
“What about the Nephel!! We could hide there for a while, gather information and see what to do next! I’m sure they’d let us stay for a while!”
Galdur sighed, he really didn’t want to have to hide with the Nephel. They were tricksters and backstabbers and sorcerers. “Although I’m a Sorcerer as well I suppose…my magic is different though…”
Galdur looked up and chuckled slightly, the last of his earlier tears disappearing. “I guess that’s our best bet. Those two leggers better not try to steal my Starignis while I’m sleeping like last time or I’ll give em what’s coming.” He said mostly humorously.

This is from a story of mine I’m working on planning out. It’s about a bunch of different dragon species on an island along with the Nephel. (humans but way bigger) these two in the small story snippet are Crystiss dragons, very large with tough Boulder like skin and crystals growing fro their backs, tail, horns and everywhere else. They shed them once a year at a certain time called Shedding Week. The crystals fall off and new ones began to grow. Starignis is the rarest thing a Crystiss can be born with. A dragon born with three heads would be more common than this, and that’s uncommon. 😂 Starignis gives the dragon abilities and powers beyond other Crystiss. A normal dragon can obtain similar powers if they have several Starignis crystals from a Natural born Starignis. (Starignis means Starfire if you wanted to know lol)

It's okay!😅 I'll probably just watch for the most part.
