Our neighbor's roo who is the sweetest bird I've ever seen, got caught in a fence trying to get into the goat feed.
They found him hanging on the fence by one leg after I called and said he hadn't come over for a couple of days to get his breakfast and visit with my chickens. '
They have no idea how long he was hanging there.
So they got him loose and put him in the barn for 3 days in a box. He was eating and drinking.
Finally he got out of the box yesterday and was wondering around the back 40 but......
His left foot toes are very curled and he can seem to jump up on anything.
He is talking a alot and eating and drinking.
They brought him over here (because he lives over here most of the time and I have him isolated in our small side run.
I taped the foot right below the spur to give him some support but what I'm wondering is if it's a tendon pull will it heal or is this foot going to stay curled?
He doesn't seem to be hurting or suffering. Just crippled.
Will this get better or can he live out his life with this crippled foot?
