Damn incubator keeps dropping temp.

Last week it ran happily at 37-38degC

It dropped to 35degC so I bought it inside.

It then ran happily on again correctly, but this last day its dropped to 35-36degC

Water wigler has all dried up, but I do have a bowl of water in the incubator.

It concerns me the wiggler has dried out, as if this has will the eggs have too....

Is this a problem with dry incubation? Humidity is around 25%.

Just candled them for the last time.....

I'm not very confident on the results actually....but we'll leave them to go another week.

Took out 5 eggs showing no signs of developing. 5 eggs left.
I poured some water into the bottom of the incubator to help raise the humidity a bit. Some condensation on the glass....

what day are you on ??? Do you have a still air incubator ???

I was doing dry, but it dried out the water wiggler, so now I have no way of knowing the temp, as I used the steady temp of the water wiggler to monitor. I'll have to buy another one.

I'll sit tight for another week....

The temp drop isn't enough to kill them but, may delay their hatch by a day or two depending on how long it lasts. Does your bator have a wafer to control the temps? If so, it could be going bad. I would suggest replacing it. Otherwise, not sure why it would be dropping.

I would try to keep the hum at about 40-45ish and then up it on day 18 to about 60-65, my last hatch I dry incubated and that worked great for me I got 100% hatch, wouldnt worry about the temp to much, like farmer kitty said, it wont kill em just make em a little late.

Managed to get the incubator back upto temp by tweaking the thermostat....

Humidity up at 60%.

5-6 more days to go, maybe a bit more as the temp dropped. It'll annoy me if it's late as I hoped to get them hatched during the weekend.

Might have to take a sickie on Monday next week to watch the little ones hatch.
