I have five silkies, not counting an older one that I'm positive is a roo. The babies are, by virtue of breed, being difficult to sex. They're close to 12 weeks now and I think I'm seeing some differentiation. Unfortunately, I'm seeing three or four cockerals, one or two pullets (depending on the day lol). Another set of eyes would be greatly appreciated!

chook 1 (the only one I'm fairly positive is female)

Chook 2, the one I keep going back and forth on

Chook 3, pretty sure a roo

Chook 4 has a lot of reddish coloring

Dust Bunny (known roo)

I need to run out and get a better picture of the last baby, but it's another reddish black one.

I pretty much agree with your guesses, but catching each bird and taking some close up crest and straight on comb pictures will help. (Dust Bunny is a cockerel though.)

Alrighty, caught the last of the sunlight for some headshots. Trying to keep them in the same order as original post.

Chook 1 (probably a pullet?)

Chook 2 (kind of wild hair is throwing me off 😜)

chook 3 (the largest of the litter, reddish, but a tiny comb?)

Chook 4 (smallest birb, biggest comb)

Chook 5 (most red of the black one's, almost non-existent comb)

So there they are! No crowing or eggs yet, but I'm hoping we're close. Also, please forgive the Animal jammies 😬

In silkies, being reddish has nothing to do with gender
