I recently purchased 8 D'anvers at an auction.

I have a Blue Quail rooster (I believe)
A Quail hen
and 6 black pullets

What are the genetics for these birds and what am I likely to get by breeding the quail and blacks to my boy?

Thanks!

Quail are e+/e+(Wildtype, autosomal recessive) Co/Co(Columbian Restrictor, Autosomal Dominant) Ml/Ml(Melanotic, Autosomal Dominant) bl+/bl+(none blue, autosomal recessive)

Blue Quail are e+/e+, Co/Co, Ml/Ml, Bl/bl+(Blue, Autosomal dominant)

Black should be.. E/E co+/co+ Ml/Ml(melanotic is not always found on all black birds, but some do carry melanotic) bl+/bl+

if you cross your Blue Quail roo to Black hens you will end up with 50% black chick down chicks(will grow to be all black with some red/gold color leaking) 50% Blue down chicks (will grow to be all blue with some Red/gold color leaking)

if you cross your Blue Quail roo over the Quail hen you will produce 50% blue Quail chicks and 50% Quail chicks
