Love that! Wonder if I dub Rusty a "spare part", then I could just let him roam the property as resident menace?

Good grief why would you do that to the innocent deer and such?

Congrats Aubrey cannot wait to see them.

key west chick was looking for a D'Anver rooster and thought Rusty would be perfect. As snotty as the little menace can be, I still hesitate to let him go until I get some chicks out of this group in the spring. He is such a handsome little menace, ain't he?

Aubrey, I don't think that is possible that you are more excited than me.... I'm going wild from waiting!!!

But I can't believe that you didn't take off from work to just sit and watch for my little egg babies to come out!

But Cynthia was kind enough to post me some pics to look at while you were away. She is really a great help.

I am discovering that the d'anver people are just as great as their little darlins, why heck, I even like Rusty!

Going to Tennessee to the lake for the weekend, hopefully I'll be able to get the old run down model of a computer to work while I'm there, if not, see you all on Monday!
Have a great weekend and leave me plenty of goodies to read when I get back!!

Hahaha Now when I come from school I look forward to seeing this thread.... There are always a few funny posts!!!!

Anyways, My little olive is beginning her 3rd time laying... Last fall, this spring, and now... She seems to not lay in extremely hot or extremely cold weather. She also molted mid-september.... so that probably put a damper on it. I'll post a few pics of her and the eggs in a while.... If i remember!

Aubrey! I just bought a Quail D'anver Rooster about a month older than the my Silver Quail D'anver Rooster. How do I put them together without the two roosters get in a bloody mess. As soon as I let the new rooster out of the cage, they were just running at each other and fight.....I really like both of them and want them to free range and do not want either one of them lock up.

lts call it a draw Laura Lee. Im 2 years into a 5-7 year project to make these and have wanted them forever seems like! So this will be a great help.

Will be home watching for your eggs this weekend.

Chicken Boy,
Glad to see everyone is having a good time and enjoying the thread as well. That's what I started it for, to introduce as many as possible to the breed and to have fun with it, Glad to see it worked.

Do,

You just have to let them do their thing and run it's course. Everytime I add a new rooster to a breeding pen, they'll spar for a couple hours then settle down. If they are out and free ranged, they have room to get away from each other so should do it quicker I would think. There's no real way around it, they'll fight the first day. If you have a way to pen up the original rooster for a day or so, that usually burst their bubble a bit and he'll be less likly to be as agressive to the new comer. Right now, he's the king of the yard in his eyes, once you take him out, their little pea brain forgets quick and he'll think he was placed in another dominate roosters yard when you let him back out. Sounds good and usuallu works, but they'll still do it til the get the pecking order straightened out between them.

Good luck with it.
