d'anver lovers, discuss the breed and post some pics!

Hi I am new to this thread. OKAY first off I have to admitt something. I thought I had a pair of Millie Fleur D'Uccles... a girl and a boy. Never occured to me to wonder why she did not have vulture hocks. I also tried my best to have a home and run for each bread. But now I have to make one more.

Looks like I also need a male Danver and a female D'Uccle. Good gravey! They are so cute together.

So what do you think? I love her but not knowing a bunch on D'Anvers, I wonder # 1 if she is correct? #2 Correct enough to breed?

Laura Lee--I don't have anything against silkies, its the partridge color on that feather just reminds me of a pile of dirty grease rags. In other colors especially buff or blue. I kinda like the little cage dusters.

Aubrey, just checking am I looking at a male and female here?

Truth be told, jj, I just think Silkies are wrong in general.

Yeah I could not even get her to touch, with one finger, a chick for heaven's sake. She acted like it was a flesh eating bacteria that she would take back to GA as a molecule that would attack Isaac, her hens, the dog and the neighbor's cat.

202roosterlane...Big Ben is a mille fleur d'Uccle not a d'anver but that little girl is an old english game bantam .... adorable little birds and sweet as can be. Get her a male and have some babies.

Your little girl is not a D'Anver. I would also say probably Old English Game Bantam in the Mille Fleur color. Your cockerel is, of course, a mille fleur D'Uccle.

Cetawin, you exaggerate. I did touch one. Didn't I? If that molecule would have attacked the dog next door, I'd have brought back the whole chick, LOL!

Honestly, I don't think there is anything uglier than a Silkie teenager! Once they get past the few days old mark, they get really uuuuugly, especially with the black skin. The only thing worse is a showgirl! Honestly, what could be more damaging to the manhood of a rooster than to be called a Showgirl?!

Doing well the shoulder still hurts but eh it will get over it. Need some Visine or Clear Eyes? *smirking*

No you most certainly would not touch it, Cheyenne practically chased you with it. Yes they may have their ugly moments but then again so do most other breeds just some are worse than others. I agree that calling a rooster a "showgirl" is just wrong and on so many levels. LOL

PS: Aubrey if I have contaminated your thread of beauties with my awkward hairy aliens I shall remove the pics but not until they have tortured jj for at least 24 hours! *snicker*
