d'anver lovers, discuss the breed and post some pics!

little bit of both on some up til 2 years old, then they pretty much have what they have. On a few, the white tips can get a little bigger with age. Most are a good indication of what they will be after their first year molt, but they can change a lot still. Never cull them based on lack of mottleing til after their second adult molt

Well, when you visit, I'll make you a cake.

I love the D'Anvers but sadly, have no room for more colors at the moment. I am completely in love with the hens. Rufus is alternately cantankerous then cuddly, Rusty is always a snot (though DH is making strides in taming the little beast), Aubrey just hangs back, though will bite when reached for, and Angus is mild mannered. Penny is still my pocket pet, Aimee is a complete pest, always wanting to be on your shoulder talking in your ear, and Carly won't ask for attention, but loves it when she gets it. For a pet, you cannot beat a D'Anver hen! They're lots of fun. No eggs yet. That will be even more fun, I'm sure.

Does anyone know if there are any red d'anvers in the US??? (not ginger red, just plain red, no black tailed birds)

Jean, I don't know, but I'm sure Aubrey will and will answer when he checks the thread again.
