d'anver lovers, discuss the breed and post some pics!

I wouldnt give up on it... it looks a bit hennish in it's features to me. Lavenders usually have a darker less bright comb anyway, so that's anot a good comarison to go by. Now if you start seeing pointed hackle or saddle feathers...well you know what that means... one heck of a beard on it either way

Which color of d'Anvers has green legs? One of the babies hatched last week has really green legs.
Found a picture: Chick in the lower left. The middle chick has light green legs too. These hatched on 4/30.

Does anyone here know anything about fading disease?
I have a chick that hatched 5 days ago, although it has got stronger and after 3 days has been drinking by itself, it still hasn't eaten.
It hasn't grown and is now half the size of the ones that hatched 2 days after it. They are all in together, and I have tried scrambled egg, dipping its beak regularly in the food and tapping the food with my finger.
Someone suggested to me that it could have fading disease but have never heard of it.

I saw it poo yesterday and its poo resembled raw egg white and yolk. Has anyone seen this before?

Have never heard of "fading disease". What you describe sounds like what we call "failure to thrive". It happens for unknown internal reasons with some chicks. Had a d'Anver do that myself recently. It lived about 9 days, though it was eating and drinking, its body never grew, just the wings grew longer. It got weaker and weaker and died. It's just one of those things.

Back a few months ago, I had made queries about where to get some more Quail d'Anvers, including getting info from Aubrey for some eggs. Well, things got crazy for us and none of that happened. However, we did end up building an incubator and putting some of my son's chicken's eggs in it.

Surprise, Surprise, we actually had some hatch! We have 4 d'Anvers and 3 OEGB (they weren't supposed to be included, but managed to sneak in.) 3 of the d'Anvers are Quail but the other one we aren't sure about. I will have pictures below. The OEGB's appear to all be Silver Duckwing like their parents.

Here are pics of the Quail d'Anver trio:

From looking back through the thread, I believe it may be a BB Red. Is this possible breeding just Quail?

I am a d'Anver owner officially hehehehehehe

None do. They can often start out looking that way but usually turn slate by the time they are grown. Lok at the porcelain, it has a greenish tint also, and Cyn's mille a page or so back has a greenish look at times, but they end up blue, some start out almost white looking too.
But aside from the mottled and cuckoos they end up slate in the long run.
