EEEEE! SpeckledHen, who's Lucy? She. Is. Adorable!

Is she as friendly/tame to be held as Penny and Aimee are? I love all her white and her poofy look. How adorable! Did Carly ever grow to be about normal-sized? (I'm reading through this thread, and am only on page 215)

MaryRuth, wow-- gorgeous birds! I love the black mottled roo. What a darling white hen! How does she like to be petted, handled? She's too cute!

Lucy is most likely Penny's daughter. She was raised by Penny and Aimee jointly, along with two Coch'anvers (Cochin-d'Anver crosses). We used to call her Wrong Way Lucy, the Ditzy Chick, because she would always go off on her own and end up lost from the others. Lucy has extra short legs and Aubrey tried his best to steal her out from under me for his Ohiki project, lol. She's precious, isn't she? She waits to be carried in at roost time, refuses to go in the pop door and waits on the outside roost bar for me to scoop her up.
Another pic of Lucy

ETA: forgot to answer the question asked, that Carly stayed smaller than everyone else, but she is head hen in that flock.

Thank you Aubrey, I thought she looked gold-colored, and that the spots looked intriguing. I appreciate your input!

SpeckledHen, Lucy is so cute! Thanks for her bio. Your mille fleur girls are so adorable, you need to write a photo journal book about them.

Thought you might like to see how Spike turned out at 23 weeks old. He still hasn't found his place in the flock and I have him up for rehoming but he is really filling out now.

Cynthia, for a 23 week old, he looks like I want them at that age, lightly mottled. He has an excellent wing bow marking in the dotted pattern, I really like that and it's one of the areas that is often messed up. You can see good faint mottled tips in all his saddles and hackles which after his first adult molt should look perfect. Tails isnt showing much, but that's normal on younger males. I would like to see at least a little there, but they'll shock you after that first molt. Carrage wise he looks perfect to me. Great posture and tail, wing angle looks really good, neck looks like it'll ne nice and full as he matures. Bread looks great. That's one thing I have noticed a lot on milles in the US, they tend to have weaker beards thatn other colors, but this guy doesnt. Fromw what I can tell, his looks to have a l=nice typey comb too.

The ONLY negative thing I see for a cockerel, and it's a personal thing, he's too pale overall. Breast looks almost cream. I like the ol redder looking ones. I do have hens his color though and I have to say, they look great, but all the males I have are the redder ones. To me, I just like the darker base to them... Aside from that, for a cockerel, he looks really good!
