d'anver lovers, discuss the breed and post some pics!

Thank you so much, Aubrey. I also like the darker chest color, but other than that, to my mostly untrained eye, he seemed pretty darn good for his age. I'm learning what is right and wrong with the milles in this breed. Sam, the other one I rehomed recently, had the slightly better color, but slowly, Spike has caught up to Sam in all other ways. I wanted you to critique him so I could have something to tell any prospective new owner/breeders who may have interest in Spike. If something happened to my Aubrey right about now, I'd probably just keep this guy.

Thanks, Kathryn!

Aimee laid her first post broody egg today. Then her 6 week old Cochin "son" did a good imitation of mating her. After that, she decided it was time for him to go and kept attacking him so he and her Dellie cross "daughter" are spending the night alone and Aimee is back in the coop.

My hatching eggs arrived today!

Thank you so very much, Aubrey! Three weeks sure seems like a very long wait. Especially for tiny mille fleur D'anvers darlings! Here's hoping that the hatch goes well.

Three weeks 'till hatching isn't long, is it? And the mille fleurs really do develop to have those adorable orange eyes, don't they? And they love attention, isn't that right?

Gosh, I'd really better stop thinking about all this....

I have a Boggy Bottom Assortment of D'anvers in my incubator. I think I have the notes on the egg tips figured out .DQ. Dun Quail? SQ. Silver Quail?
CU. Cuckoo? DCU. Dun Cuckoo? I am very impressed. The P.O got them to me on Wednesday. All the way to Anchorage Alaska!

All in one piece too!

Laseterlass, congratulations! Those are some gorgeous colors. Dunn cuckoo sounds amazing. You must be so excited!

Congrats, Chickee! May you have a super hatch!

Anyone, just curious, are D'anvers a chatty breed? Our EE never makes a sound except her egg song, but our Speckled Sussex follows me, singing the whole time. I imagine it's individual, but just wondering where D'anvers tend to fall on the spectrum.
