Thanks, JJ! I've been Googling to look at photos, and there wasn't much to find that I could be sure of what I was seeing. The mottled and Gold necks are gorgeous!

The goldneck is a millie with dominate white added. The dominate white makes the black in a millie white. Thanks, JJ! I've been Googling to look at photos, and there wasn't much to find that I could be sure of what I was seeing. The mottled and Gold necks are gorgeous!
Thank you, JJ! You are probably right about the feedstore calling them "quail" because of lack of d'Anver knowledge. We're happy as long as they are d'anvers. It's weird though, in the last year I've searched local sources for Quail d'Anvers and can't find any quail. We'll see how they turn out and enjoy them. Here is a picture I snapped today showing all the peachy feathers growing in...I would say they are white d'Anvers. Quail is the most popular or numerous color so it is common for non-d"anver people to refer to the whole breed as Quail d'Anvers.

I'm pretty sure 3 of the 6 are boys........and the one in the picture was one of the suspected boys. Three of their "combs" are widening and turning more pinkish/orange while the other 3's combs are staying narrow and yellow. What do people do with extra d'Anver roosters!I think those peach feathers are what is actually gold leakage. In that area most likely a rooster. would wait and get Aubrey's opinion.
will havwe to get you some pics up, fianlly getting some nice dun and blue mottled to grow out, just waiting on the lavender mottled now.Hey Aubrey, or anyone, what does dun mottled look like? Is it like the buff mottled in Europe, that I think looks sort of like Goldneck?
haha well here it is...I'm pretty sure 3 of the 6 are boys........and the one in the picture was one of the suspected boys. I'm not familiar with d'Anvers so much, but in my silkies I know that gold or red leakage is not good -at least not show quality. These little birds are only pets and a hobby for my 12 year old son.
I'd love Aubrey's opinion.
