d'anver lovers, discuss the breed and post some pics!

Boy I have missed a lot this evening...

I didn't get so spend much time with Rusty and the Girls. They are going good. I got two eggs and did not get pecked.

The Hooligans are all well too.

I cane home to two large dogs running around the out side if my fence. I ran them off. Called around trying to find their owners because I hate the idea of killing someone's pets. Then before I could get all the farm chores I had a goat of two I'm keeping for a friend to keep them from getting breed. Went into labor... uuuuugh. I got it in the kennel in the garage. Had to then take off to both kids ballgames. I called the owner and she came when she got off work to a premature delivery. Mama goat is fine so far. Baby was way to early. Which in long run was a good thing because Mama is to small to be breed. Keep your fingers crossed there will be no more complications.
Too much drama for me! Hope nothing else happens. A good friend of mine who used to live in Ball Ground and now lives in Indiana shows her goats. She has some spectacular ones.

I know we are nutty but she was so afraid she would not get to see him again and now she has seen him. She really loves that boy.

No more than I do. He's a loveable guy!

Yes I like it too, but I have 8 Porcelain d'Uccle and one Milli. I'm very excited to get the D'anver. Thank you for sharing with me.

Karen the d'uccle d'anver cross creates a beautiful bird and seems to a often the butthead attitude of the dancer male as well as the foot feathering. My Little Love Rufus has two porcelain duccle women when he first arrived here and he has a lavender split duccle gal now.

Looks like TWO more D'Anver broodies, my porcelain hen, and one of this year's pullets, Sissy. They are trying to sit with the other two broodies in their small nests. And I have two broodies in the main coop who do not have eggs. Had to patch up my Delaware rooster and his son Rex, who got very beat up fighting through the fence today. Thought Ike was going to drop dead of a heart attack, he was breathing so hard and I had to pet him and calm him down and ignore all the blood for awhile in favor of keeping him breathing. ENOUGH drama, already!

and in addition to chicken stuff, I'm making items for our Blue Roo stores plus my 82 year old FIL is in the hospital, just diagnosed with lung cancer, probably stage 4. Trying to stay calm and focused and keep the migraines away and the chickens are not cooperating.

ETA: Yes, two more broodies. So, four of the ten D'Anver hens are broody, though one is this year's pullet, Sissy. And if it goes as it usually does, Aimee will go broody again, and maybe Carly again. It's not the Bantam Coop, it's the Broody Coop.

Back chicken drama Cyn. I just want me and birds to survive this latest weather snafu and get the child safely to school in Florida...then a couple drinks a hot bath and a two day nap.
