Pretty chickens and they look happy in the new house. My back will recover, I'm sure, but thank you! Atlas and his two girls are in the new coop tonight though the front isn't painted and the trim isn't on yet, but he hurt Caroline today and this needed to happen. So, here is the inside of their new temporary home, soon to be the bantams new home.
DH may have to work hard by himself because we are changing hosts for our web business (Blue Roo Creations) and we are starting the changeover now. Lots of work to do, lots of tedious computer stuff and I have to do my part.

Looking forward to pictures.Thank you! They're adjusting. I can still hear Atlas crowing though now, he's on the back side of the much larger coop he was previously living in. We have some of the trim on and painted, but still have to trim out the windows. When we get all that on, will take new pics.
Boy, this Walmart Colorplace paint has really taken a nosedive in recent years! We put probably four coats on and the plywood still shows through in places. No more! I'll only do Oops paint if it's a better paint in the first place. Can't beat Behr Ultra, with or without the primer. And three of my coops are painted with that same Walmart brand, no issues with it until these three gallons of this whatever-the-heck-color it is. It looks almost slate blue in the can, but it works up to be a very dark blue-green, teal-ish color. Looks good with the garnet trim. After we're done with this, we have some deferred maintenance to do on the other older buildings, if DH doesn't run screaming into the night.
We got some nice, heavy rain this morning!
Ha, you didn't fool me for one minute!I know I haven't said much this summer but I have been keeping up with all the posts. It pains me greatly to announce that a virulent strain of Kentucky Leg Fungus is forcing me to change breeds to partridge show girls. I will miss the d'Anvers and posting pictures on this thread.
Wait I am kidding about the show girls, but I am cutting back on the d'Anvers. I have decided that my goal is to recreate all 6 colors (plus a few extra) of Watermaals and make them a common breed in the US. There arevplenty of people working d'Anvers andvthey are very popular. I will keep a few colors plus some to use in the watermaal project.
My d'Anvers aren't the broody types so far. Even my Silkies have been easy to break! Now, my Ameraucanas are another story! Thanks! Atlas and his two pullets may end up staying there. We'll see, depends on other things happening here. I'm still trying to break Sissy of being broody, but she's still insisting on sitting on nothing.
Now I need to see what the Watermaals look like.I know I haven't said much this summer but I have been keeping up with all the posts.
