d'anver lovers, discuss the breed and post some pics!

Hi all! I recently got two little d'anver hens. They were purchased for five dollars each from my local fair, the one pictured below is "Top hat". I spent awhile looking at breed info, and I would like to get a second opinion on her quality (She got first in the 4h open end). I plan on taking her to Ohio state fair in Fall.

From what I can see she looks like a very cute hen.

This is my son and his little Quail D Anver, "Ella". She is so tame and sweet. We just adore her!

Hey, all. I haven't been posting here lately, but I got two eggs from one of the older hens this week, first in a YEAR! of course, it was Aimee. Then, today, just now in fact, there was a rumble in the bantam pen. I've never seen anything like it! Tiny Carly was chasing and flogging Aubrey and Cissy was on the roost facing Aubrey just after that, yelling in his face. Then, Cissy and Aimee were fighting. They were all screaming at each other! CRAZY!

Yay, another person! How old are your girls now?

Our two are 7 months now, little egg factories so far once they finally started. We're hoping to get some different colors from Boggy Bottom Bantams this season!

Mine are mostly older. Three hens, Aimee, Penny and Carly, and the porcelain rooster, Aubrey, are about to turn 6 years old. Mina is a few months younger than her dad, Aubrey; Mina's son with Aubrey as sire, Spike, is 5, then there is Cissy, who I think is 3 years old. Cissy and Mina are both Aimee's daughters. I don't think Penny has laid an egg since she was 2 years old. They just do not lay. A year ago, Aimee and Mina both laid a few eggs and quit again. If any start up, it's Aimee and she mostly goes broody when she does, but her last bout, she didn't do that.

Here's my little girl, Piper. She's never been shown but I'm really hoping I can show her and my d'Uccles this summer.
