d'anver lovers, discuss the breed and post some pics!

I've been sick and our computer got a virus....ugh, what a pain!
I've been wanting to post some updates of our d'anver chicks. They are getting cuter, especially as their little beards & cheek feathers grow in. I'm also impressed at how early their gender shows up...at least I hope none of them are late developing roosters!

Oops, I meant to add some pictures but accidentally posted. Here are a "few" photos, some also showing their new covered pen.

yep that one on the left is a normal quail, the dun quail is the smokey colored one on the right. Bred together they'll make 50% of each if it's a pair.

Looks like a porcelain on the d'uccle, hate it's all that made it

They are all doing break going by leg color it looks like I have two hens and three roos in the cuckoos. The hatchery is replacing the for Bantam chicks that died. But the circumstances still irritate me. I think from now on I'm going to be sticking to ordering hatching eggs. opening a box to a broken egg I can handle that.

To be sure my eggs/chicks don't get put on the truck for delivery, I go in one to two days before they are due to arrive and hand the people in the post office a letter with my name, address and phone number, stating that I am expecting eggs/chicks and to please call me as soon as they arrive for pick-up. I ask that the letter be given to my postal carrier. That is the person putting the mail on the truck. It works out really well.

Hope this time the post office doesn't screw up!!!!
