d'anver lovers, discuss the breed and post some pics!

I have some eggs incubating and due on March 11th. Any guesses on what color I will get out of the khaki quail x dun cuckoo mix? I will also be hatching straight khaki quail. Can't wait! These will be the first eggs I have hatched from my BBB d'Anvers. :celebrate

Congrats on them. On the khaki quail to dun cuckoo you will get dun and khaki cuckoo with color leakage especially in the wing bows. They can then be used to make barred quail if you wanted. To. I've got some, they are pretty cool looking. A quail version of a crele

Thanks Aubrey! I have that 1 dun barred quail pullet from your eggs that is so pretty. What would I need to breed the khaki quail x dun cuckoo chicks to, to get the dun barred quail?

I was so excited to see your first auctions on Ebay! I wanted to bid but both my incubators are full for another week. Maybe your next auction. Which colors are laying well at this time. I still want some porcelain, Mille Fleur and mottled chocolate.

She's gorgeous!

Hey, Aubrey or JJ or whoever knows, could you check out my thread here and throw me your opinion? No one has replied and I'd sort of like a guess from someone. Thanks so much! https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/newestpost/858884

All the broodies are doing very well together. Babies, babies everywhere.

You re-define "Broody Zone" and with the addition of the Old Ladies Retirement Home and Hospice Center you got it going on in Georgia. Too high tech for lil ole me. I just bring them into the living room. LOL

Now, now, we must get the title correct. It's "The Chicken Asylum Retirement Home and Hospice". I must have a sign made some day, not to mention that sign for the bantam coop that says "Broody Coop, Enter at Own Risk".

will have plenty more, just getting started !

and God she did turn out pretty.
to make more. Do that cross and then breed those together, the chicks will be barred dun cuckoo ( khaki too) and will carry the quail juju. So all that will be needed is to cross them again. a percentage will come out like this girl.
also, use this girl to them as well. almost all hers would come out right. and add the dun quail girl in there too, almost all hers would come out like this too off the new male
