wow, that's the first one I've heard of ever getting frost bite, but yeah, due to where you are, I guess that would explain it, couldnt imagen being that cold , whew

yep, that's what I heard on the radio yesterday, 14 for Tuesday. no snow though, supposed to be back up to upper 60's when all that rain comes threw on Sunday, but get COOOOOLD after that again. Sounds like I'll be cleaning pens all weekend and getting fresh bedding put back in after the rain moves out, yea! Always LOVE doing that.

Well my goodness! I have just spent my whole morning reading all 42 pages of this wonderful thread! I am definitely smitten with these delightful little bantams!

BBB....you have a great website and I also enjoyed going thru all 346 of your photos! I live up here in nw Indiana so I have been looking for a cold hearty bantam. You can see our little BirdHouse on my BYC page. We currently have 4 pigeons, 2 ducks and one lonely polish/silkie cross hen. I recently lost my sweet little cochin hen

and so started my search for another banty. I would like to get a couple of pullets from you this spring. I'm just not sure which color. Kinda leaning toward the dun quail or silver quail. I do not breed or show...just like my pets with eggs

What's the earliest you can tell sex? I would like them as young as possible so they won't mind being handled. Denim (cochin) did not like being handled and neither does Star. We use a lot of organic product so periodically drive to Lebanon IN to buy organic feed.

I will be watching this thead closely for more info and soooo enjoy all the pictures! I love winter but I am now going to be so ansy and anxious for SPRING!

To be honest, I do so much color projetc work, that I really dont have space to keep back many started birds for people though. I mainly sell eggs or day olds, much cheaper on both of us that way too. Ruffly, for what 3-4 adults birds with shipping would cost you, I can get you 20 or so day olds.
But that's up to you, will keep back a few if that's the way you would like them. Take about 4 months or so to reliably sex them though. Those two colors, I usually keep some back on anyway for myself.

Glad you took the time to go threw the site, and all the 300+ pics of the bantams, LOL took a while didnt it.
Actually, once everyone gets back in full feather, young ones too, I will be redoing all the pics, and putting them on the site, and again in this thread as we have now gotten in some many new birds, new colors and so on, (have about 300 projetc chicks growing out still form this year) That they just need re taking pics of.
