That's the truth!

I'd be froze solid out there, and they just act like there's nothing to it, makes me cold to the bone watching those ducks out there too, playing in the ice water, LOL

haha thats hilarious that you said that because i think it was yesterday I saw my crazy ducks playing in the water an it litterally made me shiver.

And yeah I dont see how they do it when I cant stand to be out there for more than a few minutes and they live out there and act like its nothing. You would think they would be all huddled together in a corner or something but they are just as happy and active as if it were spring weather.

yep, in the hour or so it takes me to feed up every evening, my fingers have turned pink and my nose and ears feel like they are gone fall off, and here they are splashing in thw water

well it's encouraging to me to hear how winter hardy they can be. They'll need to be to live up here in ND! But Aubrey, at least I got my Christmas wish list done. I want Quail, Silver Quail, and Lavender. He he he... I'm SO looking forward to this spring!

will be sure to help you out there, just contact me in the spring and we'll get it done. Yep also they do fine up there, I have sent quite a few to the Dakotas and even Alaska.

a buddy of mine in Idaho, just contacted me. He's wanting to move some of his surplus d'anvers. He has a lot of show quality quail from Greg Romer's line, and the dun quail, made from Romer's quail. If anyone is interested, PM me, I will get you in touch with him. You wont be disapointed, this is where my new quail and my dun quail came from, and he is a poultry judge, so he knows quality.

Doesnt matter sex wise to color on that, either way you go, black to quail will give you all blacks, some will most likely have some quail colors leaking threw and not be solid black as they will carry the quail genes.
If you breed these blacks back to each other the following year, you will get a lot more blacks, but will also get some quail back out of them too.
According to what the chicken calculator shows, it also says there should be some bb reds and buff columbians pop up, but I'm sure that's one of those super rare shots there for those two colors, though possible.
