Oh Lord yes, she looks much better now. You can see with a little age what a difference she has in beard and muffs. Comb looks great too, right type and size for a good pullet. Feathering also looks very good from what I could tell from the pics, nice and compact and even flowing. Big thing is they need to be fat and full in the feathers. You want a nice even flow from one zone to the next, no gaps, or weak areas in between. Like I was saying in an earlier post, on the males with the hackle flowing nearly all the way to the tail, stuff like that.

She's shaping up really nice looks like though

Thank you so much! She won Junior Champion at the fair so I am very proud of her!

Also, if anyone's into showmanship, I've worked with cochins, OEGB, polish, and even bantam rocks, but the d'Anver far surpasses them. They're calm, definitely not too flighty, and are sooooo sweet and willing to do whatever you need to do with them. So, the d'Anver gets my vote as best showmanship bird.....

Congrats on that.
Yes all that is very true too in my opinion as well. They are just tailor made for the ring. Unfortunately, not many folks have them. Mainly due to the rarity outside of the quail color. BUT, that being said, most judges LOVE them when they get to see them. And they are just a perfect little bantam. Personally, if I were a judge, I'd lean more to the not so common stuff too. I'd get tired of seeing 1000 silkies and old english everywhere I went too.

Aubrey, this morning, Rufus and Rusty and Aubrey are all crowing! They turned 8 weeks old Wednesday. Let me just say that Rusty is appropriately named.

Rufus has a pretty good crow, as does Aubrey. Still waiting for Angus...

I have a little black OEGB which is Olive's Best Friend, but whenever I bring her to shows there's WAY too much competition!!! I'm also going to bring Olive to what we call "The Little Folk's Fair" which is where the community nursery school runs a fun fair for little kids to raise money. Of course, I HAVE to bring Olive to the petting zoo

Omigosh, isn't Aubrey such a looker?

He seems to have a thing for my Silver Phoenix pullet, Molly.
