d'anver lovers, discuss the breed and post some pics!

Aubrey, I decided to see if someone wanted Rusty. I've been lately letting him out with the few older hens when they free range to watch out for them. These pics are in the BSA ad. He has great posture and quite the "little big man" syndrome. He's so fiesty, but today, when he was out on range and I called his name, he came running back to the pen. Surprised me!

shouldnt be hard, he's going to shape up to be a pretty boy for sure.

Arianna,

gonna have to chage my mind on pic #4, totally missed the red in it's shoulders, it's a boy, just was going off color on him, usually the solid black backed ones like that are pullets, but they pullets wont have red shoulders like it does

The other pic you added is a blue quail looks like, rooster too

I can walk you threw shipping, all you need is a box, and send it out express mail, no biggie.
If you want to do it, I'll send you a box and we can go from there, I sure would love to have one, the duns were part of what I lost in the monsoon we had this spring.

Just Pm me if you want to try it and I'll tell ya what to do.

Is the set of pics you had of them of 1 bird or two?

Just curious, like I said, first ones looked male, but last ones looked hen feathered ( no pointy feathers in hackle or tail area yet)

I am really surprised, but my DH really likes these little D'Anvers! He sort of hesitated when I told him I finally decided to let one of the boys go. I was floored. They wiggle their way into your heart, even the little ones full of attitude!

Me, too. I have momentary twinges thinking about him leaving, even if he is a typical little D'Anver snot, trust me. I was watching him out with the hens yesterday. He is such a cutie, a little guard dog, so alert, and boy, can he scream! Amazing the volume these tiny boys can get!

haha
I know what you mean.

He'll end up being a beautful boy for somebody once he finishes coloring up.

Be a hard one for me to call.
I know you wanted to stay mainly with the porcelains though

I won't be trying too hard to sell him, so if he's still here when I start hatching from them, no problem. I can keep him till later on and when I start getting some splits and/or more porcelains, then maybe he can go to a new home as part of a trio, unless by then, I'm too attached to let him go at all, LOL.

Hey.

I love d'Anders!! Ive checked out the boggy bottom bantam site a couple times. One day I'd like to breed different d'Anvers too. :] Right now I've only got one, but shes so sweet.

Aw, isn't she sweet?! I adore the little pullets. My Penny is an angel. I call her my Pocket Penny since that's where she'd like to live.

Aubrey, I couldn't do it! I took down the ad for Rusty! I'm a wimp, I admit it. I can't let him go, not yet.
