Those are good looking chicks even if some of them need a leg waxing. The eye stripe chick is looking like rusty except his sholders look like they are comming in a little redder.

haha like that one you mentioned Cynthia... just like his daddy aint he... I do have to say those are some healthy , fat looking little chicks, very clean!! Especially for a brooder..

By the way, William PMed me back today about some chicks he was getting for a buddy of his. He's fine, said it went 400 yards from his house though. His buddy wasnt so luck, said it got his house, didnt leave much they way he said it. So we were all real lucky looks like..

yep I'd keep all of them. Milles are good for all sorts of projects too. Use that bb male you have to them and you'll get buff columbians right off the bat, no waiting involved. You'll have to back breed them to get them to breed pure, they'll make half millies and half columbians the second time... then on they'll breed pretty much true.

Yep if darker is your goal, it isnt bad... Just keep selecting the darker birds. I like them both and have a mix of both....

Guy on ebay wanted to see my REAL blue quail pictures, Said I didnt have the real picture of the item listed.... haha thought that was funny. I usually get about 10-12 a year thinking they are supposed to be a QUAIL bird not the color and try to tell me I'm crazy???? Dont you know that's a chicken you have listed... that aint no quail I've ever seen....

I had a quail rooster at the swap the other day. Had it labled quail d'anver, three people asked me if it was a quail or a chicken. Champagne at a beer fest.

That's what I have been planning. I hope to get some pullets out of him and a quail this year, This fall I should have three different lines of un related millies. Then next year I was going to put the bb red with the quail cross pullets and some millies. Of course that is another pen I will have to build this summer.Along with whatever else I happen to get into my head.
