d'anver lovers, discuss the breed and post some pics!

It will be interesting to hear what Aubrey has to say about him ( it looks to be getting that little red bump on it comb from what I have noticed the hens stay flat longer.) The wings don't look like my millies, but I am begining to wonder what they are going to turn out like. It reminds me more of the way my bb red feathered out, but that was the only one I have seen get they're feathers. Can't wait to see another picture next week. thanks

he's a buff columbian some how...got to be. Looks like he didnt get the mottled gene somehow. Pretty much all a mille is , is a mottled columbian. For some reason he didnt get the mottled gene?? Will be interesting to see what he actually does end up being, but that's my bet for the time being

Cool hatcher! You can put lots of eggs in that one-it would get me in real trouble!

I'll update pics next week. Was having camera issues-mine didn't like the heat lamp for some reason and there was no good natural light in the house, so it was really hard to get a decent picture until DH put little Rusty, Jr. out on the kitchen island on that towel.

I have three more trays,if I get eggs I will be in trouble.

I just now saw your post, Aubrey. He's a Buff Columbian? How is that even possible? Can the mottling gene just be left out? Could he still be out of one of the porcelain males? How interesting!

JJ, I bet I could find a 3-4 week old Mille in my old pics of Rusty's group. Let me go check a thread here on BYC where I was posting pics of that hatch.

ETA: 3 week old Mille Fleur for you, JJ

5 Wks old here, Rufus, I think:

Rufus @ 7 Weeks--wow, that comb really popped up there!

yep Cynthia,

That's what's got me confussed too. It should be there if bred mottled to mottled, but he sure looks like my columbians at that stage. Time will tell. He should be mottled... but doesnt look like it. Be sure to keep us picture posted on him as he grows up...I very curious to see what he turns into....

And yep, JJ she got ya that quick on a 3 week mille
