d'anver lovers, discuss the breed and post some pics!

Amy, those are so cute! Two are much darker looking than the ones I got so I'm betting those could have been sired by Rusty. And of course, that little Coch'anver is adorable! I think that is a really nice cross, porcelain d'Anver x lavender Cochin.

Yep, no doubt a male, hens will have a laced back and way less red/gold. More duller over all body color,

Cynthia,
you gone have to break all those girls up or you'll never get eggs this year haha

Lord the silver quail here FINALLY laid a freakin egg, 3 actually ... yesterday. I've got SO many orders for them already I was begining to wonder if I'd be able to get to any of them. Finally got 1 from the buff columbians (Nanakat) today too, same deal with them....maybe spring finally made it here.
Yes!!! x 2

One of Aimee's eggs was cheeping at me, so I bet they're pipping right now. Will check in the a.m.

Congratulations...hard to believe it's been three weeks! Please post pictures.

Under Aimee, one of her own eggs is pipped, as is one of Shadow's. Under Penny, I know that one of Shadow's is pipped, but I didn't bother her any further to check for more. I can't wait to see how they do with these. Of course, once they're hatched, I'll have no idea whose is whose, since I'm sure they'll steal each other's chicks, too.

I just had some chicks hatch from bought eggs that are meant to be white. All 3 so far are cream with grey heads, wings and grey tail. My last batch that had one white chick in, that chick was yellow all over, so what on earth are these chicks colour?

White Orpington chicks are grey, white and yellow, so they could still be white. It depends on the breed.
