Ahhhhh small town America. I LOVE it here, Because the story gets better. LOL

The mystery of where she as for 3 weeks is solved. When the article came out this morning, another neighbor of my in-laws called them and told them this story: On approximately the day of our hawk attack, he drove up to friend's house ( who lives a couple of miles from us) She was hysterical and had a little duck in her yard that was full of puncture wounds, bleeding and limping. They had no idea where the duck had come from so he picked her up and took her to his house (12 and 1/2 miles away and close to my in laws). He'd never had a duck and didn't really know what to do so made her a little place in his shed and nursed her back to health. He's had her for 3 weeks and didnt really know what he'd do with her. lol It was just fate that Peanut wandered over from his house to my in laws and caught my father in laws attention enough that he would mention it..How cool is that? Still a series of coincidences, but the mystery is solved.

It was just meant to be that Peanut ended up back home with you and your DH where she belongs.

I've been following this thread and Peanut's story, it's so great you got her back, and that's a GREAT article! Way to plug BYC!!!

It's really cool that you now know where she was all that time.

I was mistaken before when I said this was my favorite return home story ever.

NOW it is my favorite. That's the coolest story.

If I were you, I would turn it into a children's book, if nothing else for your own children/grandchildren/nieces/nephews etc.

Awesome! I followed this story from the beginning and when it had a happy ending,. I sent it to everyone I knew!
Great picture too,.

Gotta say though,.that Willoughby fellow said. "Hawks "generally don't go for full-grown fowl," ,.. he needs to check out the stories here on BYC,..!
One sure took our roo!

YAY! I'm so glad you shared the link!

I find it so funny that they seem to be having trouble believing the story! They should have just come on b y BYC an d they could have followed the story from the beginning!

What I actually said to the reporter about BYC was that we'd learned everything we knew about ducks from the duck forum at BYC. She just didn't quote me. But I made her promise to plug it. <3

I just might think about making Peanut into a children's book. It is a great story of overcoming obstacles, huh?
