I see Dark blocks when candled egg on day 11th day. Is this rotten? Should I keept it till 21st day to check if it hatches or to avoid bacteria should I remove from incubator? I attached the photos of egg.

If u gently rotate the egg from side to side and it looks loose..kind floating movement inside..then the chick has most likely died.do the float test. If the egg smells okay and ur not sure..give it a few more days

tried to rotate circular way slowly and found that the yolk and dark blocks are not moving. Does this mean this is possible safe egg?

Usually when the chick has died..when u gently rotate the egg from side to side it will look loose/floaty/watery inside as the chick decomposes. There will be dark patches. U will also notice the viens receeding, very small or pale compared to other eggs at same development. If its not watery inside, If your not sure..wait another week to check. Does the egg smell bad? If not..wont hirt to wait.During development..specially in the 1st couple weeks..it can be difficult to tell if the chick died for sure. If ur worried about it exploding, put it in a small dish if u can and hand turn it. If it was a freshly laid egg that went into incubation..chances r that won't happen.its usually older eggs or eggs that have cracks that bacteria enter that cause that. I hand turn all my eggs now. I think I have better success. I sometimes get shipped eggs eggs with bad air cells/a lot die...mainly issues with shipping..so I use egg cartons a lot and rotate eggs small end down. If I have an egg I'm not sure about..i have small plastic dishes I put them in to isolate them in case it explodes. Ive looked at 100s of eggs...i can usually tell chick died during development..but..if the egg smells ok..then I give it the benefit of doubt and continue to incubate it. You can still try the float test to. Basically..u run warm water in a dish deep enough for the egg to float freely. Place egg in water small end down. Allow it to sit while water stabilizes from movement of putting the egg jn..and watch it..if the egg moves its alive. There is tons of info on this site on doin the float test.

Thanks for more useful information. Will the egg work for hatching after doing a warm water test? Usually online forums says that the egg should not be washed or should be watered. please add some info on this.

Floating means - Good egg?
Sinking means - bad egg?
Will keeping egg in warm water change temperature of egg ?
Can we dip egg in water while in the process of hatching?
What day(s) would be good option to do a float test?
Egg blast means a crack or blast like a bomb and spreads liquid on all eggs?

During float test..egg small end down should float. Theory is that if it has a live embryo u will see the egg " move" or cause ripples in the water.try to get temp at 95.5 or close.it will be okay for a few minutes . Do not " wipe" the egg so that u don't remove bloom/ protective coating. Just lightly pat dry or put it back in incubator. It will dry fairly quick. Never put a pipped egg in water. It will drown a live chick. U should be able to tell b4 day 18( lock down) if an egg is viable. I'm not familiar with the term " egg blast". However..a bad egg can sometimes explode during incubation. If it gets spread over the good eggs it can contaminate the others with lethal bacteria that will kill unhatched chicks or causevother chicks that hatch to become sick due to contamination in the bator.

Yes...if u do the float test and the egg is viable it will still hatch. Is this ur first time incubating eggs?
